The girls and I headed over to the calving shed to check* on the heifers.
*I say this loosely, because we all know I haven't a clue on what to check, but it sounds pretty important. Really, we were just visiting.
We saw our friend cat/cow again.
Reese was snug and warm, listening to the noises of the shed, to her sister talk to the cows, and to Leroy whining to come inside.
The pregnant mamas were very interested in Reese. Sorry ladies, she's mine. You'll all have your babies to cuddle soon enough.
I love this... reminds me of the time I watched a calving birth and dad asked me to hold the plywood door to the pen closed. Mind you, I was probably 10, and I was a CHICKEN in more ways than one. Needless to say, the pulling became challenging, mama turned for the door, and I ducked outside. The door came crashing down, mama was gone, and my daddy was NOT impressed with this city girl! :)
