We headed over to the Red Shed (where Spencer and I had our wedding reception!) to check on the newest members of Cooney Ranch.
Just Ella's size! Spencer was trying to get Ella to ride one, but she was not interested.
The calf's mama looks on intently. Cattle are nervous of people by nature (although we've seen many much tamer and friendly cows that we call "pets") but are even more nervous of kids. Spencer's grandpa Bob, a wonderful storyteller, remembers when Spencer was around 3 and was charged by an angry mama cow. Little Spencer turned out just fine, but trust us, we always practice safety when it comes to our bovine friends.
