Hi sweetie.

It's me, your mom.
Your mom who is also happens to be the second born daughter in her family.
Now, let me clarify. I'm not complaining about having an older sister. In fact, my older sister is the best big sister I could ever ask for. I'm just realizing they are some parallels. One being my picture taking. You see, when life was just me and Ella, I had WAY more time on my hands for pictures, and only one subject to focus on. I'm guessing your grandma would say the same thing about life with her and Auntie Sarah. And once I came into the picture, I didn't have very many personal photo shoots... they often involved my big sister.

But those pictures are among my most treasured from my childhood.

And trust me, I have plenty of pictures all by myself, like my famous afro picture. (nice perm pinkie!)

Anyway, what I want to let you know is that being 2nd in lines means you have a built in best friend. You can learn from her, confide in her, and never worry that you'll be alone. And no matter if you're first or last, your mama and daddy love you way too much for you to ever understand! You can pretend all you want that it's a bummer being second, but let's not kid anyone, it's a pretty nice little spot in the family to have! So enjoy that big sister of yours, always wanting to change your diapers and stick in your pacifier, because trust me girl, it only gets better.
(Yawn for you Laura!)
SO cute. And thanks for the yawn.
ReplyDeleteSecond's not so bad, right?
