letting go

While Ella was out fencing one day with Grandma Mary, they happened upon the stomping grounds of probably a billion frogs.  So, shortly thereafter our household increased by five.

We created a habitat, which Ella insisted needed more water, and watched {and listened} to them one evening.  

And we loved them.  We caught bugs the next day, trying to figure out what our frogs wanted to eat.  She added sticks, for exercise, shared her family of frogs willingly with her sister, and included the frogs in an afternoon jam session.  By early evening, Ella made a shocking announcement:

She was ready to let them go.

"I'll find them again, mama."

And so, we said our goodbyes, and watching them dive into Fish Creek.  We'll be on the lookout for a reunion though!
