sledding fun

 The girls and I spent an afternoon soaking up some winter rays and playing in the snow!  {we escorted our cats outside too... }
 Reese LOVED sledding, mostly because she didn't have to walk and fall!  It's tough with short legs, bulky outerwear, and clunky boots!

 We went many rounds of Ella pushing the sled down the hill, and me bringing us back up.  Phew!  Hard work for me!  Reminds me of a little story my sister Laura tells:
 Living in MN, my mom would always bundle us up and shoo us outside during the winter, so we found lots of ways to enjoy ourselves outside.  We'd build tunnels and forts in the plowed snow hills, organize neighborhood snowball fights, and go sledding.  One particular evening, I was probably ten-(ish) sledding with my 6 year old sister Laura and some friends.  It was getting pretty dark, and our sweet paths were starting to get iced over from the cooler temperatures.  (Disclaimer:  the rest of the story is according to Laura)  Supposedly I faked an injury, one that required little Laura to haul me on my sled back home.  Apparently I was a great actress, and poor Laura (who really was miniature as a kid) was so scared that I was actually really hurt.  When I got up and walked inside the joke was pretty much over.

Now mom, I wouldn't do something like that, would I?  :)

Happy winter!!
