a rock post

I've really only made progress on my endless list of summer outdoor projects every other summer, because I've been finding myself pretty pregnant really, every other year :) So, this, my friends, is a working summer for me! My mom visited the summer after Ella was born and helped me with this pretty bed (thanks mom, and can you believe how good it's doing?) and we had big plans for the rest of the area in our "upper lawn."

I didn't get very far, and sure enough, the following summer (eight months pregnant), I was graciously helped by Milo and Lalo to complete a rock sidewalk. I had always wanted to go around the tree, and so after spending a morning with the girls picking rock, I came home with a sufficient load to finish my job.

And in one afternoon (-ish), it was finished!

Ella calls it the "bird bridge" and we all think it's wonderful.

Ta-da! Complete with the bucket of worms found while digging! I'm dreaming up which plants will go in this pretty little bed!
My future summer projects:
-finish building flower beds with rock
-create my raised garden bed, with rock, and get her all ready for next spring!
-mow, mow, mow, mow
-water, water, water (although, we've had beautiful rain this June, so maybe I won't have to water so much!)
-more rock, for fun?
