On a quest to find 2009's perfect tree...
Remember last year's tree? It's hard for me to believe that another Christmas is upon us. We're maybe a little late in getting our decorations out, but we'll just keep them up through the end of the year. Back to the Christmas tree hunt...
This year we had another set of eyes to look out for that perfect tree. We set off in a different part of our ranch this year because last year it seemed that all the good trees were taken.*
*an opinion held by my husband :)
Ella has the same taste as I do in trees. We're not very experienced tree-hunters, though.
There were a lot of "Look at DIS one" and "Oh WOW!" exclaimations, but still, no luck in finding a good tree.
A half hour into it, the girls were fading... fast. In fact, Reese snuggled up and took a nap. Another half hour, we had a flat. (we really do live in the mountains) I admit, a couple times we'd bound over hills or dead trees or rocks and I was a tad worried about the logistics of having to carry both girls home, in the cold. We even sidetracked a little as we spotted two coyotes in with our bulls and steers. Our coyote hunt was unsuccessful though. Maybe next time. (Plus Ella kept saying that it was Leroy, which may have been disturbing to her.)
But never fear, Spencer found us a tree. This charming tree even has pinecones. We cut a little Charlie Brown tree to put in the kitchen, too. This weekend was spent decking many a halls.
Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Wow. Its beautiful!!! Good work guys :)
