I've found that art is mutually satisfying for both of us these days. For me, it's a little time where I can get those fun household chores done, and for Ella, it's pure bliss. She loves creating, and loves to focus in on creating a masterpiece.
Lately, I'll admit I've spent more time watching her than folding clothes. Reese too is really starting to watch and respond to Ella with smiles and coos. Ella likes to do most anything, and she's always up for a new art medium. Any suggestions besides painting? We're open to many many options (this winter will probably be a long one :))
Oh, and I wonder if Monet and other brilliant artists ever painted with a sidekick. You know, someone watching to make sure each stroke was just right. Well, if that's the key to success, Ella has got it in the bag.
ooh - you need a plastic tub... it changes painting to so many new mediums it will never get old! Add paint and marbles... add paint and noodles... add glitter.... with a plastic tub, I kid you not, the world was a new oasis every day with my kindergarteners! :) Oh - and when you think there is nothing new to add, change the paper! Write on it with a white crayon, or glue on a pattern and swirl in the glitter, or let the glue dry and then swirl on the paint with marbles... talk about mix-n-matching! :)
