Here's your nails, Mother

Look it's the birthday girl!!!

Who would've thought back in high school that you two lovebirds would have wound up with four daughters, three granddaughters, and a whole lot of memories in between. Wow! Despite that outfit, Dad, you landed a pretty remarkable wife. (Go ahead and comment on my dad's fly get-up... he'll read them and enjoy them -- and I know, it was probably cool back then :))

Now, I am a daddy's girl and love my dad to the moon and back, but my mama is one special lady. She is the glue that holds our family together. I know that's pretty cliche but for my family, it's the truth. She's the ultimate coordinator, organizer, and hard worker. I bet that she's spending her birthday flashing through the house cleaning, or helping my sister move a gigantic comfy couch into their new house. (congrats you guys!) Or painting. Or cooking for confirmation this weekend. Or cleaning up her flowerbeds. That's just how mom is -- she gets stuff done.

Couple that hard work with the biggest heart you can ever find and you've got my mom. Always there to chat, sneak in her motherly advice, and encourage you when you're feeling bummed. She is so positive and uplifting that she brightens everybody's day. Have I ever expressed how very blessed I am?

Mama, I love you very very much. I miss you too. I hope you have a wonderful weekend and enjoy every second of your birthday. My card will be late (not that you'll be surprised, you spent years waiting up for me past curfew) but know that I wish I could be there to hug and love and celebrate your special day with you. I pray everyday that I can be as good of a wife, mother, and woman as you are. Thanks for being an outstanding example. Love and hugs!!

  5. Mom was, actually, doing all those things. And then some. So, she's the bomb. And yes, Jenna.
