Daily chores

What. Do you think this girl gets a pony and doesn't have to work a bit?

Actually, she's got the best job in the world, because she really enjoys it. Especially when she's out with Grandma Mary. It starts with the sheep, because they're very friendly and always willing to eat a little cake and play around with Ella.

But then they see Leroy, our pup, and decide that a little snack isn't worth getting chased by a dog.

So then it's off to find Jackpot. {As of today, Ella changed his name, but it's still the same little pony}

Let me just take this opportunity to say how thankful I am for my mother-in-law. She's done this whole "raising kids on the ranch" and knows the ropes around here. Shes always willing to take us places where they're working, or give me good directions, or with the case of Jackpot, help take care of him. Because, frankly, this is my first rodeo.

So Mary caught him, brought him outside the corrals (the other horses in there were being a bit aggressive and really wanted to eat all the cake that Ella had brought for Jackpot) so Ella could spend a little one on one time with him.

They fed him, talked to him, and gave him a nice pet before they put him back with the others and said goodbye...

... but not before a goodbye kiss.

This really is the life :)
