Brush 'em

She loves to brush her teeth. It's our favorite nightly activity, along with herding the kitties with her dad. I'll have to catch that one on tape.

As far as I can tell from my flood-stalking efforts, it seems like everyone is playing the waiting and watching game. Which, after all the tremendous work the people have done, I think a little rest for their bodies is maybe a good thing.

Keep up your prayers that the dikes will hold up. Keep your prayers for all the recovery efforts. Many are still displaced from their homes, and have lost their belongings and other important treasures from their lives. There will be pieces to pick up, muddy messes to sludge through, and lives to put back together.

My grandpa was featured on the 6 o'clock news and was asked by the reporter, "What do you do from here?" He responded, with a hint of a smile, "Probably clean things up."

Life goes on. Flowers and tomatoes will grow again. But what I hope no one ever forgets is the power of community, and the shining example of the goodness of people's hearts. That is truly something to be proud of.
