do you hear what I hear?

Thumbs up on the piano. (a BIG thanks to the Nash's)

Let's go back about 10 years. I was in the midst of my teens. (I know, it's a scary scary place) And although I never went through the "I hate my parents" stage, I did go through the "It's only cool if my friends think it's cool" stage. Sadly, when I emerged from this era I left behind some beloved pastimes. Singing and piano, mainly. (I did find a new love during this time which took me to so many places and gave me opportunities galore--thanks volleyball.)

I come from a very musical family. I always look forward to when my mom's sisters and their families get together because we sing "Be present" or, if we're really really lucky, "the orchestra song". My sisters and I were singing in church each at about 5 years old and up. There were weddings, funerals, plays, Christmas programs, and baptisms. It was like second nature to me. With piano, oh it was a struggle. I just plain hated to practice. I cried about it (sooooo embarrassing now). I remember my mom saying, "You'll regret this when you're older." And I do. I wish so bad I could sit down and play Christmas carols right now. (You were right mom.)

For this holiday season, we will stick to blasting Sirius/XM channel 6081 "Holly" and dancing around the house. Maybe someday she'll be tickling those ivories -- tear-free :)

For your enjoyment: I added some lovely playlists on the sidebar. You can even click pop-out and leave my page and still enjoy the music. Yay!

  1. Thanks for the pop-out tip! I was already debating how to leave you a comment and not lose your awesome playlist. I love it! Ella looks like a little Mozart in the first picture!
